In brief…

At just 31 years of age, this young Spanish conductor, graduate from the Royal College of Music London, has already conducted in Europe, America, Africa and Asia. A  semifinalist at the Maestro Solti International Conducting Competition and nominee for the prestigious Nestle & Salzburg Young Conductor Award, Urbina has worked with musicians such as Bernard Haitink, Leonard Slatkin, Juan Diego Florez and Cecilia Bartoli, and is mentored by conductors such as John Wilson, Gianluca Marcianò and Pablo Mielgo. Principal Conductor of Orchestra Vitae in London and Assistant Conductor of the Balearic Symphony Orchestra, he is in his last season as Music director of the London City Orchestra. Equally passionate in the symphonic and operatic genres, he is a strong advocate for Spanish repertoire and music education and outreach. He is an Ambassador for UK charity The Amber Trust.
